POLICY AND RETURN
INFORMATION
Custom Order and General Information
For Information and Custom Orders: To place a custom order, obtain a price quote, or discuss questions, please contact Kimberly Arpaia by phone 203-772-4643 or email ArpaiaFineJewelry@mac.com.
Custom Time Frames: If we have all components in our inventory to make your custom order, we will provide you with a completion date. We will do our very best to have the piece ready when you want it. Generally, we try to finish all projects within two (2) weeks, though more time may be needed for complex pieces and during busy seasons. Custom orders requiring materials and artisan-crafted parts which are not in our inventory (such as a special clasp) can take much longer - sometimes even months, and only approximate completion dates might be possible. We wish to please all our clients and will do whatever we can to meet your complete satisfaction, including delivering jewelry on time for a special occasion.
Look-See Arrangements: Upon request, we are happy to make advance arrangements for our known preferred customers to "look-see" instock jewelry prior to purchase (no return fee applies). All shipping and handling charges and insurance are the client's responsibility. All look-see arrangements are in writing and require prior credit card approval for full purchase amount; the charge will be applied upon purchase or if the jewelry is worn or not returned in perfect condition. Look-see jewelry may not be worn other than to try on and may not be cleaned; we can detect cleaning and even the slightest wear. This policy protects all customers by guaranteeing that all of our jewerly available for purchase is in pristine new condition (unless the description provides otherwise - for example, with respect to an antique gemstone).
Shipping
Processing Instock Orders: Instock orders are processed within 2-5 business days from order date. As mentioned further below, if you require rush service, please call Kimberly Arpaia at 203-772-4643 and she will do her very best to accomodate your needs.

Federal Express is our exclusive carrier for the transportation and delivery of all merchandise sold on this website.
Free Shipping: Free shipping by Federal Express is offered on all orders to destinations in the continental United States. The free shipping offer is not available on shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Canada or other International Locations. - With respect to orders valued at maximum US $500 or less, the free shipping method is typically by FEDERAL EXPRESS GROUND. At our option and complete discretion, we may choose a faster Federal Express shipping service. - With respect to orders valued at minimum US $501 to a maximum of $15,000, the free shipping method is at our option and complete discretion by FEDERAL EXPRESS STANDARD OVERNIGHT OR FEDERAL EXPRESS 2DAY SERVICE. - With respect to orders valued at minimum US $15,001 and more, the free shipping method is by FEDERAL EXPRESS STANDARD OVERNIGHT.
Rush Service: If you require RUSH processing and shipment, please call Kimberly Arpaia at 203-772-4643. If at all possible, we will process your instock order the same day and send by Federal Express Priority Overnight. We will inform you of any additional charge for rush service and shipment.
Shipping Outside Continental United States: With respect to shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rica, Canada and Other International Destinations, please call Kimberly Arpaia at 203-772-4643. We will inform you of the additional charge for shipment to any exact destination outside of the Continental US.
Recovery for Loss incurred in Shipping - Damage, Theft, Missing Package. *We declare full merchandise value in connection with all Federal Express shipments to cover loss, theft or damage in connection with shipping. However, to recover for shipping claims, the recipient must comply with the following procedures: (1) when you sign for the package, if you notice any external damage or tampering of the box, please ask the Federal Express carrier to make a written record of the damaged container; (2) notify Arpaia Fine Jewelry within 24 hours from delivery (or as soon thereafter as possible; we have a very limited time frame to file a cargo claim with Federal Express) - we will immediately contact you and file a claim with FedEx Cargo Claims Department; (3) in the unlikely event that you do not hear from us in response to your shipping problem, please immediately contact FedEx Cargo Claims Department by calling 1-800-463-3339 to report the problem and obtain a claim number; (4) you must retain the damaged merchandise together with all shipping containers and packaging materials for Federal Express inspection (most of our shipments are double boxed and we always properly pack and seal all shipments. All boxes and packing materials must be saved for Federal Express inspection as proof of evidence of tampering or damage to the container which results in a breach of the exterior integrity of the container); and (5) cooperate fully with Arpaia Fine Jewelry and Federal Express in connection with the cargo claim. Purchases may not be returned for shipping damage - the sole recovery is Federal Express settlement as described in this paragraph.
***Direct Signature is required for all Federal Express shipments. In accordance with Federal Express requirements for settlement, we cannot waive or release any signature requirement. Accordingly, please do not hesitate to call us if you need to make special provisions for your Federal Express shipment; in which event, we will inform you of any extra handling and shipping charges in connection with your requested instructions.

Returns
Damage from Shipment: In processing all orders, each piece is checked carefully and packaged in accordance with strict proceedures. As mentioned above, we declare the full value of merchandise in connection with all Federal Express shipments and require direct signature. If the shipping container appears damaged or tampered with, please ask the FedEx carrier to make written note of the problem. Immediately upon delivery, please examine your purchase for evidence of damage. If you receive an item that appears damaged from shipment, please keep the shipping box and all packing materials and contact Arpaia Fine Jewelry immediately by phone at 203-772-4643 since we must contact Federal Express within a certain time from delivery in order for settlement coverage to apply. Since the package is in your hands and control, timely notification is your responsibility. If for any reason we do not contact you within 24 hours to discuss your damage claim, please contact FedEx Cargo Claims Department by calling 1-800-463-3339 to report the problem and process the claim. Federal Express most likely will request to see the damaged item and all packaging prior to making settlement. Federal Express is the only recovery for damage or loss incurred during shipment. Return for Defect: We do our very best to use only the finest materials which are free from defect and to make each piece with the greatest care and expertise. Each piece is checked carefully and packaged in accordance with strict proceedures. Please examine your purchase immediately upon delivery. If you believe it is defective, you may return it for repair or replacement as long as you contact us at 203-772-4643 or email ArpaiaFineJewelry@mac.com for return authorization and we receive the item within five (5) business days from delivery. We will examine the piece after return, and if it is determined to be defective, we will repair or replace it at our option and return to you without charge. If for any reason we are not able to repair or replace the item, we will issue full refund including purchase price, sales tax, and shipping charges paid by you.
Purchases may not be returned for shipping damage. We are not responsible for any shipping loss, damage or theft. As mentioned above, we declare full value for all shipments and settlement through Federal Express is the sole form of recovery for shipping loss, damage or theft. We are not responsible for jewelry exposed to any of the conditions or precautions referenced in the section on Cleaning and Care of Fine Jewelry.
We are not responsible for any allergic reactions or other adverse reactions of any kind to our jewelry or the materials used in them.
No matter how short the time of ownership or wear, we are not responsible for lost jewelry for whatever reason, including but not limited to breakage, slippage of a toggle clasp or any other type of clasp, or clasp not properly secured when put on. Loss is due to factors outside our control. In addition to securely putting on jewelry and properly caring for it, we urge you to insure valuable jewelry as mentioned in the section on Cleaning and Care of Fine Jewelry.
No matter how short the time of ownership or wear, we are not responsible for broken jewelry for whatever reason, including but not limited to broken chains, strands or clasps. Designer handmade jewelry, pieces containing soft precious metals such as silver and high karat golds, and especially strung gemstone jewelry, are delicate pieces and need to be treated with gentle care. Breakage is a result of factors outside our control. Again, in addition to proper care of your jewelry, we urge you to insure valuable jewelry as mentioned in the section on Cleaning and Care of Fine Jewelry. This is especially important to do in connection with strung pieces that are not knotted since all components and gemstones can be lost from a broken strand.
Handmade designer jewelry with natural gemstones and other natural materials typically include
variances which are not defects but part of the intrinsic beauty of the
piece.
Return Other Than Defect: Except with respect to custom orders, you may return any piece of jewelry for any reason by following the below requirements:
-All returns must be authorized by Arpaia Fine Jewelry. To obtain authorization please call 203-772-4643 or email ArpaiaFineJewelry@mac.com.
-Jewelry must be completely unworn and in pristine condition; otherwise the return will not be accepted. We are able to detect worn jewerly. This policy reassures all our customers that when they make a purchase from Arpaia Fine Jewelry, their new piece is in pristine unworn condition.
-Jewelry must be returned in the original gift box and packaging inside a strong sturdy shipping container.
-Returned jewelry must be received by Arpaia Fine Jewelry within five (5) business days from delivery; at customer's expense, returns must be sent with full declared value or fully insured to:

-We carry rare luxury handmade designer jewelry. Many of our designs involve rare natural materials and much time and labor. As a result, often a single design is available for sale only one piece at a time, and some designs are one of a kind or limited edition. Accordingly, except for defect or "look-see" arrangement, or unless expressly waived in writing by Arpaia Fine Jewelry, all returns are subject to a twenty-five percent (25%) return fee (computed on the merchandise price) plus all incidental credit card transaction charges and delivery charges incurred associated with the initial puchase and subsequent return.

In advance of any purchase, we welcome our customers to call us to discuss any special requirements or concerns they may have regarding our jewerly, custom orders, return policies or shipping procedures. We will do our very best to answer all your questions and address your concerns to your complete satisfaction, as well as to make any special allowances or arrangements advisable.
